SALAR SWAP

January 2006

WELCOME to the Official home of the Salar List 2006 January Fly Swap!

Herein can be found the Flies and the accompanying patterns and descriptions, as prepared by the Participants.

This page is dedicated to Memories of the beautiful Medway River of the South Shore of Nova Scotia, once one of the finest Atlantic Salmon rivers in North America

This Swap was initiated and executed with skill and elegance by our esteemed Swapmeister, Russell Lavigne.

Each Participant tied 20 specimens of his chosen fly, and sent them in to Russ, who then generously took the time to prepare and mail the 19 packets, each containing 19 flies, one fly from each other flytier. One by one, each of us had the delight of checking the mail, and finally getting our hands on The Package! Like Christmas morning to a 6-year old! A special mention must be made of the extra included by (Backwater) Bob Boudreau, a truly spectacular multimedia CD, a magical tour of the flora, fauna, and sparkling waters of Nova Scotia. Bravo, Bob, and many thanks! Also, special thanks to Bryant Freeman, mentor to so many of us, for generously presenting each of us with an Heirloom Fishing Fly from the bench of a true Master! And, of course many thanks to Russ and all the fine Flytiers who participated,,, A Swap to Remember!

So, Here are the Flies and their patterns...
